Rain rain go away?

Now I'm a blogger too!

Its raining today and it rained all day yesterday. This is probably my favorite type of weather. I think its cool that when we are kids we love the rain, and we look at it as a chance to get dirty and play with our friends. If you never got to play in the rain as a child, you are really missing out. Most of my work is done outside now so the rain is an inconvenience to me. It is sad how age and circumstance can turn something you love into something you hate. I noticed this yesterday while working... in the rain. There I was getting tools out of the truck and the rain was pouring down on me. It is summer but the rain was quite cold and annoying. My circumstances have definitely changed from when I was a kid, but was it so bad? If you don't know me, one of my bad flaws is letting little things piss me off. So it got me thinking about how inappreciative I am (man I have some big issues to work out). I take for granted rain, that given in another part of the world could save thousands if not hundreds of thousands of lives. A simple thing that comes from the sky. Even as I write this Im wondering if there is going to be a traffic jam on the freeway and make me late to play games at my friends store tonight!!! I told you I have issues. Now this is my first blog so I don't want to go overboard on a subject like rain, but again, time and circumstance can change lots of things about yourself.

Here is a poem I wrote a long time ago. If you have ever missed a part of yourself, this is the part I miss.

Rains Again

Rain gathers on a leaf,
small silences but the rain
falls to a pool beneath,
and becomes the same.
Off of a tin roof,
heavy and soft,
the wind's voice is loose,
until the rain is lost.
